Memorial Day weekend always feels like the official starting point for summer. We headed to the lake to get all the summer toys out- big kid toys like the boat, and little kid toys like plastic lawn mowers! We couldn't have asked for better weather! Will dug in the sand "box" which was actually a mountain of sand left on the driveway after sandbagging. Avery discovered a salamander and a toad which brought squeals of delight from the kids as they watched the toad trying to escape from the bucket! Nate enjoyed his first boat ride and we made s'mores at night and enjoyed hanging around the fire pit. It was the perfect balance of low key and excitement this weekend and I can't wait to go back for more!!
